Lyric analysis (Official song)

Rivera- Your Majesty

I'm tired of walking now
Dragging my heels round,
You're with him anyway,
And I was talking now,
It's been going round,
And i haven't got much to say
So don't loose yourself, maybe get some help,
I've got so long to save,
Don't you see me standing tall,
I was yours for long,
So, what're you doing here,
I see you everywhere

I am holding on,
Oh won't you show me,
What you're doing

Stuck out here for days,
By yourself,
So it's down to you,
What're you gonna do,
Won't you leave me,
Leave me alone,
Well i'm on my knees,
For your majesty,
And i'm shaken down to the bone

I see you standing tall,
Oh its just begun,
So, what're you doing here,
I see you everywhere,
And i'm holding on,
Won't you tell me

(instrumental)

I see you standing tall,
Oh its just begun,
So, what're you doing here,
I see you everywhere,
I'm holding on,
Won't you tell me what i'm doing

Line 1 and 2- Immediately shows negativity in the lyrics, presents the listener with the idea that the singers character in the song is growing tired of the world and loosing enthusiasm as he is "tired" and "Drags his heels" since she left him.

Line 3- This provides the audience with characters view and acceptance on her leaving him.

Line 4 and 5- This shows rumors have been spread and perhaps the character has found out negative information about her through his friends and gossip.

Line 6- Reinforces the idea that the character has accepted whats happened.

Line 7 and 8- Character could either be addressing himself or becoming the bigger person and giving advice.

Line 9 and 10- The character is almost trying to appear fine and over everything that has happened, even though he isn't.

Line 11- This contradicts what is previously said as he is actually struggling to come to grips with recent events.

Line 12- Shows his need for the character in which he is addressing in the song.

Line 13- He still has a sense of hope in the other character returning to him.

Line 14 and 15- Reinforcing the idea that the character has a need or obsession with who he is addressing in the song

Line 16 and 17- The characters psychologically unstable thoughts make him think she is suffering without him.

Line 18 and 19- Character could be addressing the women or himself, perhaps hinting at an important decision. Show's the character is weak and vulnerable.

Line 20 and 21- the thoughts inside his head.

Line 22 and 23- Shows she is powerful and he is weak. He worships her in away.

Line 24- The recent occurrences have made him weak, he gave up everything for her.

Line 25 - The character is almost trying to appear fine and over everything that has happened, even though he isn't.

Line 26- He doesn't see himself recovering anytime soon but sees her as fine.

Line 27 and 28- This contradicts what is previously said as he is actually struggling to come to grips with recent events.

Line 29- Shows he is clinging on to her.

Line 30- He wants her to open up to him or wants closure.

Line 31- The character is almost trying to appear fine and over everything that has happened, even though he isn't.

Line 32- He doesn't see himself recovering anytime soon but sees her as fine.

Line 33 and 34- Could either mean he sees the person who the song addresses in his head or in real life, perhaps implying she wont let him get over her.

Line 35- Shows he wont let go of her, and cannot get over her.

Line 36- Character wants to know where he stands.

Conclusion
The lyric analysis was one of the hardest tasks within research and planning however it allowed us to have greater insight into the meaning behind the song and therefore gave us more inspiration of what we could put within our video. Analysing the lyrics allowed us to put more themes that seem important to the artist within our video so that we are able to create the most image-relevant piece to them as we possibly can

Back-Up Field Location

Conclusion
We went out to complete our recce as soon as we had finished planning all the locations we would need and the shots that we would use. We don't need any permissions for any of the above locations show in our recce and there is very little chance of other people interfering with or being in the way of our shoot. We do not have any photos of our inside locations as there was not a date in which we could visit the house to take them prior to creating this recce, however we will definitely be allowed to use the location for the shoot and this has been confirmed. The recce is a key task as it outlines any problems with the location and also allows us to see if the location is what we desire for the video.

Shot Influences

Conclusion
Creating a moodboard of our influences was essential as it allowed us to demonstrate the intertextuality within our video but also shows that we did a wide range of research it films and their music videos before creating and planning our own video. It also gives us something to compare our shots to as if we feel that some aren't correct we can line them up with our Shot Influences and compare if we have done them correctly or not. Also as demonstrated by the moodboard the shot influences also all have a similar theme which mirrors what we will be creating in our music video.

Target Audience Analysis - Social Networks

We are lucky with our artist to have an artist who already has an established prescence for themselves on the internet. Our artist rivera already has their own facebook, twitter and soundcloud page as well as their own website advertising both their music but also telling info about the band. There is a lot of potential for their audience to grow in the near future with the increasing interest in rock/alternative music.

We have collected some screenshots of their audience statistics and images of their fans to show who they are targeting and the typical age group of their audience

Typical Rivera fans taken from Soundcloud

Instantly you can see that the age range for our artists fans is 18-24 year olds as we expected. This is good as the band themselves are in that age range so you can easily create a relationship between fan and artist. Through studying the fans we can see what they like and therefore include this in our music video. Our fans are stereotypically gig goers as when you click on many of their profiles they are either in bands themselves or keen music enthusiasts. This means that the fans will promote the music themselves as they are music lovers and will therefore gain more attention for Rivera.

Conclusion
Analysing our target audience was a key task as it allowed us to see the exact type of people we were aiming our bands video and website at. Through knowing the audience we knew the kind of things that they want and therefore what we should include to make the video most appropriate for them. The more you know about your audience the better you can market your product.

Storyboard (Annotations Needed)

The storyboard is one of the key tasks as it gives us the basic for our animatic but also is what we will take with us when we do the shoot as it straight away tells us what shot type we are using and gives us the exact order in which shots are put. The storyboard also greatly improves filming by allowing you to see which shots of yours will take place in what locations so you can film all in one place at the same time rather than trying to do it from memory, forgetting shots and having to return. To make the storyboard we drew out images that try to convey as best as possible what will be seen through the camera during that shot of the video. It is however difficult as our video makes use of a lot of long shots and long takes so it looks as if there are not a great deal of shots but this is simply because many of them last for a long period of time.

Animatic

This is our animatic made from the shots in our storyboard. This task is vital to the research and planning of a music video as it gives us a proper insight into how our ideas actually time up to the music. It also clearly shows if you do not have enough shots planned. In our music video we intend to use many long takes to create the dreamy unreal affect so our animatic is on the dull side as many of the shots are on screen for a great deal of time. Never the less the animatic was an important and useful task.
